Taraji P. Henson and Starting a Production Company
Recently, Taraji P. Henson revealed that she was disgruntled with how much she was paid despite being an academy award winning actress by providing a breakdown of who gets a piece of her paycheck.
She stated that half her paycheck goes to taxes and her agency and management get the other 30% leaving her with 20%.
As far as the agency and management payment that is standard in entertainment but entertainers can mitigate their tax liability by creating a production company and writing off the agency, management fees and any other expenses.
Mileage, people on your payroll, the lease on your car, publicist fees can, to an extent, be written off to reduce your tax burden.
Hopefully, Taraji P Henson hires a new business manager to help her not just demand what she’s worth and then keep more in her pocket.
