JustPearlyThings Signs Content Creators to 15% Deals

Recently, the black youtube has been ablaze with the copyright strikes that Pearlythings has leveled against former longtime contributor Sa Ra Garvey after Sa Ra revealed that Pearly things had recently, in a move to dominate and fill the manosphere void left by teh deceased Kevin Samuels and the (formerly) incarcerated Andrew Tate, signed several other content creators to her production studio, most notably, King Richez.

In a follow-up to Sa Ra’s video “exposing” Pearlythings for signing King Richez and Aunty Jenny to “colonial” contracts in which he claimed that Pearl told him that Richez and Jenny only get 10–15% of the revenue from their shows. Immediately Youtube was in an uproar comparing the 10–15% revenue split with contracts that artists sign in the record business.

Comments ranged from “these are slave deal terms” to “Why give 70% away (Sa Ra was offered a 30% cut of the revenue) when you can do it all yourself and keep 100%.”

All this talk about any deal in which the talent doesn’t get the lion’s share of the profit needs to stop, especially in the record business.

Yes, talent is important. It may even be the most important thing, but there are other factors at play when it comes to an artist’s success. Not only the other people that contribute on the creative side such as producers, songwriters, sound engineers and even marketing to some degree.

There are also business professionals such as attorneys, accountants, managers, and promoters. Success in any business, especially any creative business, is like driving a car; it requires 4 wheels. Even if you have 3 solid wheels without the 4th wheel you’re not going anywhere.
